Grapefruit - Citrus paradisi

The Grapefruit Tree is native to tropical Asia and the West Indies. It is now cultivated in California, Florida, Brazil and Israel. This tree stands over 20 to 33 feet high with glossy green leaves and large yellow fruit.

The essential oil is obtained by cold expression of the fruit's peel. It is a yellowish or greenish liquid with a fresh, sweet citrus aroma. It is a wonderful essential oil that helps with congested and oily skin and tones the skin and tissues. It has been reported to help with cellulites; so add some grapefruit oil to your next Aromatic Party Salt Scrub.
