| Calendula
- Calendula officinalis This annual herb grows up to 30-60 centimeters high; it has soft oval pale green leaves and bright orange daisy like flowers. Calendula is a truly beautiful plant that, according to herbal folklore, "comforts the heart and spirits". (From a personal note, I find this to be true.) The oil comes in an absolute form by solvent extraction from the flowers or as an herbal infused oil, which is the result of infusing the flowers in a vegetable oil base. Both forms of the oil are nice, and because of their different levels of concentration they are used differently. Calendula oil not only comforts the heart and spirit it also comforts the skin. With its anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and cicatrisant properties it helps with burns, eczema, insect bites, rashes, wounds etc. Calendula is not only a beautiful plant but a beautiful oil that has powerful skin-healing properties. Other
common names for Calendula are: Garden marigold, Poet's marigold, Pot marigold.

essential oils are extracted from many parts of a plant (i.e. flower, leaf, tree,
bark, root, twig, seed, berry, resin and rind). Two main methods of extraction
are expression or pressure (which is the case of most citrus oils) or steam, water

Class: FOOD - How Is It Affecting You and Your Family? What impact is commercial food having on your tissues, cells and organs, your energy level, or worse - your children's development? In this class you will obtain a basic understanding of how the food you are consuming may be affecting your health such as: Inflammation, pH imbalances, growth and aging, our moods, digestive discomfort, hormone imbalances, fatigue, allergies or sensitivities etc. You will learn how to make wiser food choices and what it really means to "eat for health and wellbeing".
